Özel became the "sole candidate" for the presidency. Before the vote, Özel gave a speech to party members, and then the congress continued behind closed doors to the press. After the congress, Özgür Özel, who was re-elected as the CHP Chairman with 1,171 delegate votes, held a rally in the outdoor area where the congress was held.

Organized through social media platforms, a one-day nationwide boycott was held on April 2 against institutions close to the government (food, transportation, media, construction, etc.).
