Gasing Pangkah is a traditional Malay sport involving a competitive game where two groups use spinning tops to strike each other's tops to win. Aziz Shamsudin, 63, known as Wak Aziz, is a master craftsman in Selangor who has been making traditional spinning tops since his 30s. Today, he is passing this craft onto his protégé, Mohd Zaimi, also known as Jimmie, 49, to continue the heritage. The intricate process of crafting a spinning top, from selecting the right wooden log to shaping it perfectly, has deterred many from learning the skill.
