A fire shutdown traffic during morning rush hour east of Richmond, VA on Monday morning. At approximately 8:15 a.m. Virginia State Police responded to northbound Interstate 295 on the Varina-Enon Bridge for a tractor-trailer that caught fire. This year, 80 years after Operation Market Garden, the Sunset March, a march held since 2014, as a tribute to the allied soldiers who fought for the freedom of the Netherlands counted thousands of people crossing the Oversteek bridge to honor WWII heroes.

On the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery, more than 1750 Allied soldiers are buried. As a part of the commemorations for the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden, a memorial service was held in the presence of WWII veterans, Anne, Princess Royal, and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

This month it will be 80 years ago that the troops of the American 82nd Airborne Division crossed the Waal River in Nijmegen, to liberate the city from the German occupiers. Because of that, a WWII encampment was recreated on the bank of the river, where around 350 re-enactors from several countries took visitors back in time with living history.
