Anant Chaturdashi marks the end of a ten day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi (celebrated as birthday of Ganapati) where devotees immerse the idol of elephant headed Hindu god Ganesha in a free flowing water body amidst chanting of pudchya varshi lavkar ya (come back early next year).
