Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated as birth of lord Krishna by Hindu devotees by singing devotional songs and fasting for a day till the midnight. The next day Dahi Handi (pot filled with curd) is celebrated on streets by breaking a high hanging pot filled with curd as re-enactment of lord Krishna's childhood where he would often steal curd and butter from the pot kept at a height by his mother.
