On the afternoon of the 12th of July, officials and supporters of the small, far-right, ultranationalist political party Konfederacja Korony Polskiej (Confederation of the Polish Crown) gather in Warsaw to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the Volhynia Massacre. In July 1943, soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army attacked Polish villages, killing between 5000 to 8000 people. It is estimated that between 1943 and 1945, over 100,000 Poles were killed at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.
