Armenia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has certified the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections, confirming that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party secured 49.74% of the vote, enough to form a government independently without coalition partners. The Prosperous Armenia party, led by billionaire Gagik Tsarukyan, narrowly failed to clear the 4% parliamentary threshold and called on its supporters to gather outside the CEC building in protest. Opposition, rejecting the outcome as illegitimate, addressed crowds demanding a rerun of the vote.
