Andrzej Poczobut is a Belarusian-Polish journalist, activist and member of the Union of Poles in Belarus who was recognized as a political prisoner. He was detained in Belarus on March 25, 2021, during a crackdown on members of the Polish minority organization, and was later sentenced to eight years in prison. Poczobut was released on April 28, 2026, as part of a “five-for-five” prisoner exchange between Belarus and Poland and transferred to the Polish side.
