Pro-Palestinian activists marched through Warsaw to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Nakba. Carrying flags and placards, protesters march from the Embassy of the United States of America to the Israeli embassy, making a stop at local bar Plan B, which was holding a pro-Palestinian arts fair. The Nakba, Arabic for “catastrophe”, refers to the mass displacement and dispossession of hundreds of thousands, and the murder of tens of thousands of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab–Israeli war and the establishment of the state of Israel. The Nakba is observed on the 15th of May each year, and the march takes place on the closest Saturday.
