Naha Airport (OKA), Okinawa’s primary gateway and Japan’s sixth-busiest airport, serves as the main air hub for Japan’s southernmost prefecture. Located just 4 km west of central Naha, the 24-hour facility opened in 1933 and handles both civilian and military traffic, sharing space with a Japan Air Self-Defense Force base. In recent years, it has recorded around 21–22 million passengers annually, with strong domestic routes (especially to Tokyo Haneda) and growing international links to Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, and Southeast Asia.
