As per Hindu mythology Devi sheetala is being worshipped as she cures smallpox's, sores, ghouls, pustules and diseases. Hence Hindu people observe Fast for the whole day and doing different traditional practices like Dandi (Lying on Ground) and put burning Fire Pot on their heads while worshiping to Devi sheetala for betterment of their family members.
