St. Petersburg completes preparations for the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II (WWII). The city streets and main squares are decorated with large-scale festive banners, red flags, and installations featuring the St. George ribbon and Soviet orders. Specialized equipment and workers install commemorative displays and informational exhibitions dedicated to historical and contemporary military events. Palace Square serves as the central hub for the decorations, welcoming residents and tourists ahead of the military parade on May 9.
