Contractors work on placing barriers around the new Banksy statue in Pall Mall, London, on 1 May 2026. The work shows a man in a suit stepping off a plinth, blinded by the flag he is carrying which has flown and wrapped itself around his head. Banksy confirms that the work is his, and an Instagram reel has been shared in which the statue is placed in the early hours of the morning. Commentators are interpreting the work as a criticism of blind nationalism in the United Kingdom, America, and around the world. Westminster Council has confirmed that they are in discussions of the future of the statue.
