Supporters marched in Melbourne in support of Ben Roberts-Smith, calling for charges against him to be dropped and expressing solidarity with current and former members of the Special Air Service Regiment. A separate anti Ben Roberts-Smith protest was held nearby. Roberts-Smith is currently facing five war crime murder charges over alleged killings of unarmed Afghan civilians during deployments in Afghanistan and remains on bail while the case proceeds through court.
