On April 15, 2026, in the province of Kahramanmaras, Turkey, a 14-year-old child carried out an attack that claimed the lives of nine people, including eight students and one teacher. The day before this attack, a similar attack had taken place in the city of Sanliurfa in southeastern Turkey. Following the attacks, teachers across Turkey decided to go on a three-day strike, and mass protests were held.
