A court in St. Petersburg sentenced six defendants in the case to prison terms of up to 12 years. The Vesna movement was founded in St. Petersburg in 2013, and from February 2022 it became one of the leading forces of anti-war protest in Russia. In the same year, the organization was designated a “foreign agent” and an “extremist organization.”
