A plaque to commemorate the law enforcement officers and first responders had been initially mandated by law to be installed by March of 2023, but it was not installed until the early morning of March 7, 2026. In January of 2026, senators passed a unanimous resolution ordering the plaque to be displayed on the Senate side of the U.S. Capitol until a permanent location can be found.
