Muslims, predominantly from the Shia community, across Indian administered Kashmir and Ladakh have contributed cash and valuables, including gold, silver jewellery, copper and household items, in a large scale donation drive to support the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure in Iran amid ongoing U.S. and Israeli strikes in the Middle East, with collections intensifying during Eid-al-Fitr and carried out through mosque networks, community volunteers and local collection centres, while the items are being converted into cash and routed through authorised channels despite logistical challenges, reflecting strong public participation and expressions of solidarity, including protests in parts of the region as conflict in West Asia escalates.
