The country is known for its festivals and traditions, and one of them is carnival, a very important celebration for Mexicans. According to the National Institute of Anthropology and History, these celebrations were brought to the Americas by the Spanish and Portuguese starting in the 15th century, and are said to have pagan origins, filled with music, dances, theatrical performances, vibrant colors, and delicious food.
