Moomba Festival is the annual festival is conducted on the banks of Yarra River in Melbourne Australia. Moomba is Australia’s largest free community festival, held annually in Melbourne over the Labour Day long weekend in March. In 2026, it runs from March 7 to March 10 along the Yarra River, including Birrarung Marr and Alexandra Gardens. Known for its lively atmosphere and diverse activities, the festival has been a major event since its official launch in 1955. Its roots date back to 1951 when Melbourne celebrated fifty years of Federation with a parade and a theatrical production.
