Residents in Mae Sot are rushing to buy fuel due to worries about potential shortages and price increases from the conflict in the Middle East. Many people from across the border in Myawaddy are also coming to purchase fuel. To keep the market stable, the Thai government has temporarily stopped fuel exports and set a price limit for diesel at under 30 baht per liter, while confirming they have enough supplies to last for two months.
