For the reason of the Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) a lion dance group performed at shops and restaurants to bring good luck, fortune, and prosperity while driving away evil spirits. The performance involves the lion "eating" greens (lettuce/cabbage) and red envelopes (hongbao) offered by business owners.
