In the city of Diyarbakir in Turkey, hundreds of people participated in a march and press conference led by the Democratic Institutions Platform, demanding that the Kurdish language to be officially recognized and used as a language of education. The demonstration organized for International Mother Language Day on February 21 was also supported by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP).
