The first of a planned three-day strike in the railway sector, was called by several unions, hundreds of trains were paralyzed and more than 34,000 workers were affected across Spain. The strike focused on demands for greater safety, less precarious employment in the sector, and increased investment, but it was called off this afternoon after several meetings between railway workers and the Ministry of Transport.
