Housing crisis in Barcelona by Paco Freire / SOPA Images
Barcelona is experiencing an exceptional housing crisis. High rental prices are forcing many to abandon their primary residences and seek housing in the metropolitan area. The situation is further complicated by the high demand for housing from more affluent sectors with insufficient income, such as young people.
