Tamil protesters gathered outside Downing Street in London to oppose what they described as the Buddhisation of Sri Lanka, condemning land grabbing and the construction of Buddhist sites such as Thayitti Vihara on traditionally Tamil land. Demonstrators called for international scrutiny, protection of minority and religious rights, and accountability for policies they say marginalise Tamil communities.
