The Israeli army imposed a curfew on residents and raided and searched Palestinian homes for Palestinian militants and military equipment. This followed a Palestinian attack that killed an Israeli man and woman in the southern Israeli city of Beit She'an. The Israeli Defense Minister ordered the army to tighten the siege and close markets, shops, and roads leading to Qabatiya.
