A protest was held outside the Gdańsk hospital where legal abortions are performed by nationalists and anti-abortion activists represented by Młodzież Wszechpolska (All-Polish Youth) and Grzegorz Braun's party. Representatives of the left wing attended the counter-demonstration. The atmosphere outside the hospital was heated. The two sides were separated by a police cordon. Opponents of abortion recited the rosary in order to stop abortions. The loud cry of a baby could be heard from loudspeakers. Crosses and religious images dominated the scene. Counter-protesters chanted slogans such as ‘Freedom of choice instead of terror’. Each group shouted their arguments for and against legal abortion.
