An increased police presence was evident at a Pro-Palestine demonstration in Manchester after police in London and Manchester announced a crackdown on protesters using slogans such as “globalize the intifada" "globalise the intifada". Many placards supported the ongoing hunger strikers who are being held due to support for Palestine Action. The demonstration started at Manchester Cathedral and marched through the city centre to the Central Library in St Peter's Square watched by police observers.
