Thousands gathered on the cliffs of Nazaré, Portugal, to witness the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge, part of the 2025/2026 WSL season. Against a backdrop of roaring Atlantic swells, surfers were towed into colossal waves by jet skis, carving lines down walls of water that towered above the ocean. Spectators lined the headland and surrounding hills, capturing the spectacle with phones and cameras.
