Rally in Support of Palestine Prisoner's Hunger Strike in Liverpool by Martin Pope / SOPA Images
Supporters of the Filton 24 pro-Palestine prisoners rally in Liverpool in solidarity with the 24 on remand and those seven currently on hunger strike in prisons across the UK. Several prisoners have refused food for 35 days. Despite three being hospitalized the government and general media have not engaged with them at all. The prisoners have been on remand for over a year since being arrested for targeting the Filton site of Israeli arms company Elbit Systems in Bristol and destroying quadcopter drones they say were destined for use against Palestinians in Gaza. The hunger striking prisoners are making five demands of the government : to end all censorship and surveillance of communications, immediate bail, a fair trial, de-proscription of Palestine Action and to shut down Elbit Systems. More prisoners are expected to join the hunger strike imminently.
