In Nijmegen, Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) entered the city center along a route, accompanied by his helpers, the Pieten (Peters), who gave traditional candies to children and adults. On the first Saturday after November 11th, the red-and-white-clad Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) arrives in several Dutch cities.
