Voting began on Tuesday for the by-elections in the assembly constituencies in central Kashmir. The by-election was necessitated after Abdullah, who contested and won from two constituencies in the 2024 J&K assembly elections chose to retain his party’s traditional Ganderbal seat while vacating Budgam. Both constituencies fall in central Kashmir.
