Thousands of protesters took to the streets a nationwide general strike in solidarity with Palestine. Demonstrations led to road blockades, public transport disruptions and clashes between protesters and police in several parts of the city. The strike called by pro-Palestinian groups and unions demanded an end to support for Israel and greater action from the international community.
