Thousands of Kurds participated in a march and rally in the Turkish city of Diyarbakır, demanding the release of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), who is currently in prison. The march was organized by the “Democratic Institutions Platform,” which includes legal Kurdish political parties such as the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), and numerous civil society organizations. Speeches at the rally called for the application of the “Right to Hope” for the release of Abdullah Ocalan.
