On the afternoon of Tuesday, the 9th of September, officers within the Polish prison service gathered at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland to protest against poor working conditions and pay. With placards, banners, and flags, the protesters marched from the chancellery to the Justice Department building, then to the Polish Parliament. The leaders of the protest believe the lack of increased pay brings about staff shortages which in turn leads to an overload of responsibilities and less safety.
