The CHP's "Nation Stands Up for Its Will" rally is held weekly in a different province to demand the freedom of presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is imprisoned in Silivri and early elections was held in Kadıköy this week. İmamoğlu, a member of the CHP was detained on March 19 along with about 100 others and subsequently jailed and dismissed by the Turkish Ministry of Interior on March 23 on corruption charges. On September 2 2025, a Turkish court also removed the party's Istanbul chair, Özgür Çelik over Congress irregularities.
