The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, in a decision taken on 2nd September, annulled the Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul 38th Ordinary Provincial Congress held on 8th October 2023. Subsequently, a trustee was appointed to the Istanbul Provincial Organisation, and former CHP Deputy Chairman Gürsel Tekin was appointed as provincial chairman by court order, replacing the current provincial chairman Özgür Çelik. The CHP laid a wreath at Taksim Square to mark the 102nd anniversary of its founding. CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel and the dismissed CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik attended the event, where it was stated that the fight against the trustee would continue.
