Kashmir On High Alert After River Jhelum Crossed Danger Mark
An imminent flood threat looms over Jammu and Kashmir as rivers and streams swell after continuous rainfall. Authorities have closed all schools and shut the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India. The local meteorological department forecasts heavy to very heavy rain in the next 24 hours. Residents have been urged to stay vigilant and take precautions due to the heightened risk of landslides and floods.
