This historic complex, dates back to the 12th century and was destroyed by Islamic State (ISIS) group fighters, was rebuilt as part of the UNESCO-led "Revive the Spirit of Mosul" project, with financial support from the United Arab Emirates. The official reopening ceremony is scheduled for September 1, 2025, with the attendance of the Iraqi Prime Minister and a senior delegation from the United Arab Emirates.
