On July 31, 2025, during the Free Iran World Summit 2025, NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi and international dignitaries gathered at Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome to honor the victims of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran and recent executions, including MEK supporters Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani. The ceremony featured floral tributes, symbolic displays, and calls for accountability and justice for victims of human rights abuses committed by the Iranian regime.
