Resident doctors previously called junior doctors took part in a 5-day strike over pay and conditions. Up to 50,000 doctors and their supporters joined picket lines outside major hospitals across the UK. The most significant picket line was located outside St Thomas’s Hospital where several hundred resident doctors participated in a demonstration at the main entrance throughout the day holding placards.
