The Manta community in Bangladesh is a nomadic group of boat-dwelling fishers who live entirely on rivers in the southern coastal regions. Displaced by river erosion, they have no land, legal identity, or access to education and healthcare. Living on boats for generations, they survive by fishing but face severe climate risks, social exclusion, and poverty. Despite some government and NGO efforts, they remain one of the most marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities in the country.
