On the morning of 17th June, climate activists from the Last Generation (PL: Ostatnie Pokolenie) group block roads around Warsaw. One of four groups working concurrently, these activists blocked roads in the city centre and on bridges across the Vistula River. At midday, all four groups come together for one final blockade. Unlike other protests where the activists have glued themselves to the roads, today, the activists block the road only for 1 or 2 cycles of the pedestrian traffic crossing lights. The action is in answer to a cancelled appointment to meet Warsaw's mayor and failed presidential candidate, Rafal Trzaskowski. The climate activists direct their demands to Trzaskowski, namely to redirect funding for new motorways to public transport, and to introduce a public transport ticket for all priced 50PLN per month.
