In Los Angeles, ongoing protests against recent ICE raids have escalated into intense clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement. Tensions continued on the night of June 10, prompting Mayor Karen Bass to declare a state of emergency and impose a citywide curfew—the first since 1992. Protesters gathered outside the downtown federal building, where officers used stun grenades and pepper spray to disperse the crowds. Dozens blocked the 101 freeway before being cleared by highway patrol. As looting and property damage surged overnight, nearly 200 arrests were made. National Guard units were deployed, and law enforcement helicopters hovered above while journalists faced threats of arrest. President Trump ordered reinforcements, including 4,000 National Guards and 700 Marines, branding the protestors as insurgents and hinting at invoking the Insurrection Act.
