The WorldPride 2025 Parade in Washington kicked off the final weekend of the three-week festival that celebrates and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community.
Washington hosted WorldPride 2025, an annual international pride festival that changes locations each year. When it was awarded to Washington in 2022, the city was one of the most LGBTQ-friendly in the country and under an LGBTQ-friendly administration. However, President Trump's anti-trans policies, which included bans on international travel by transgender people, led to challenges for the celebration including travel warnings and boycotts from some countries and organizations.
