Canadians will vote in a federal election on April 28, 2025. Prime Minister Mark Carney called the snap election after taking over from Justin Trudeau. There are 343 seats in the House of Commons based on new riding boundaries from the 2021 census. Key issues in the campaign have included the cost of living, housing, health care, and trade tensions with the United States. Advance voting broke records, with about 7.3 million people voting over the Easter weekend—25 per cent more than in 2021.
