Demonstrators in Manhattan on Palestinian Prisoners’ Day demanded Israel to release Palestinian prisoners from its captivity. Demonstrators also demanded an end to Israel’s military operations in Gaza. According to human rights organizations, Palestinian prisoners suffer from poor jail conditions where some prisoners are tortured by Israel. Human rights groups state the poor jail environment in which Palestinian inmates are held in causes illnesses and that some inmates are restricted from family visitations.
