The Shrine Guard celebrated its 90th anniversary at the Shrine of Remembrance. Established in 1935 and inspired by the Australian Light Horse, the Shrine Guard has provided ceremonial support and security at the shrine ever since. The 90th anniversary event in 2025 honored their enduring service and deep connection to Australia’s military heritage. The Shrine of Remembrance opened in 1934 is a war memorial dedicated to honoring the men and women who served in various wars particularly those who served in World War I.
