Every year on March 10, National Anthem Day of Ukraine is celebrated. It was on this day, in 1865, in the now Polish city of Przemysl, that the first public performance of the anthem took place. The Ukrainian anthem is a work of composer Mykhailo Verbytskyi to the words of the poet Pavlo Chubynskyi. This year, in Lviv, on the eve of this holiday, a large flag of Ukraine was unfurled on Rynok Square and the anthem was performed by all those present.
